Trillium Chapter 2026-2027 Board Nominee Candidate Statements

Eileen Arnaud

I have been a Trillium supporter and volunteer since 2014. In 2016 I formally joined Trillium’s Board of Directors as Secretary, then became Trillium’s President in 2018. During this second term, I actively worked with the Executive at BMW CCA to complete Trillium’s transition to being a member club of BMW CCA.  After supporting Trillium in the role of Past President during 2020/2021, I rejoined the Board again in 2022 and became Trillium’s President again to help our club navigate post COVID.

In addition, I've been involved in the Street Survival program since 2012 starting as a general volunteer to help with registration and provide general support at the event.  I have volunteered at every school since then and joined the Street Survival School Leadership Team and Planning Committee in 2016 as Lead for Event Day registration and catering.

As an IT Senior Business Analyst professional with 30+ years experience, I have the valuable communication, analytical and leadership skills that combined with my experience, enables me to bring people together to work effectively to achieve common goals.

I am seeking re-election to Trillium’s Board to work alongside members of the club who are as enthusiastic and committed as I am to see Trillium continue to grow as the club of choice for driving students and instructors.

Adnan Ashraf

I am Adnan Ashraf excited to run as a candidate for our BMW Car Club. As both an enthusiast and a professional in IT and business development, I bring a unique combination of passion and strategic thinking to help our club grow and thrive.

Our club has incredible potential—not just as a community of BMW lovers, but as a platform for connection, events, and value for every member. I believe we can take it to the next level.

If elected, my priorities will be:

• Increasing club revenue through better partnerships, sponsorships, and wellorganized events

• Streamlining processes by improving our digital tools, membership systems, and communication channels

• Enhancing member experience with more engaging events, smoother coordination, and stronger community interaction

I’m committed to making our club more efficient, more connected, and more rewarding for every member. With the right systems and ideas in place, we can build something truly exceptional together.

I would be honored to have your support.

Anas Ashraf

I am very happy to accept my nomination for the BMW Trillium Chapter Board of Directors. I’ve genuinely enjoyed being part of a chapter that values great events and a welcoming community for enthusiasts of all levels, and I’m eager to help that community grow even more.

My professional background is in tech and product design. In my day job, I focus on how to make things work better for people, and I’ve been trying to bring that same mindset to my volunteer work with the club. Whether I’m helping out at the skid pad or working on marketing, I’m always looking for ways to make our events more accessible and visible.

I’m interested in serving on the Board to give back to the volunteers who make this club possible and to ensure we keep moving in a positive direction.

Christopher Boers

I’m pleased to accept my nomination for the BMW Trillium Chapter Board of Directors. I’ve really enjoyed being part of a chapter that values great events, strong organization, and a welcoming community for BMW enthusiasts of all experience levels.

I bring a practical, hands-on background in operations, planning, and working within established rules and safety standards. Through participating in chapter events and activities, I’ve gained a strong appreciation for the effort that goes into delivering safe, well-run, and enjoyable experiences for members.

I’m interested in serving on the Board to give back to the club, support the volunteers who make our events possible, and help ensure the chapter continues to run smoothly and grow in a positive direction.

Damon Choy

Our club is at a critical juncture. We are in need of a careful balance of passion and pragmatism to sustain and grow the club. From a practical point of view, I bring operational and financial leadership experience as a GM of several high-volume collision repair facilities, along with hands-on experience as the owner of a small, driver-oriented rental fleet. From the enthusiast's perspective, it is my commitment to our members to maintain sight of what makes Trillium special and to not only protect but lean into these aspects to drive growth. I believe we already have the talent, work ethic, experience and passion within our membership to succeed - we need leadership to point our resources in the same direction. If selected, I would be honoured to have the opportunity to contribute my experience to a board that works together toward the best interests of our members.

Steve Gailits

I would like to continue with my candidacy for the board to help with the transition. I hope that my long history with Trillium and my contacts/relationships with many people including Mosport staff and marshalls may be of help. This will be my last commitment to a club that in my opinion is of great merit and has people who truly care.

Max Kiehn

I have been part of the BMW CCA Trillium Club since my first event in 2008, and I have been instructing with the club since 2020. I’ve learned most of what I know about driving through my interactions with the many great people at Trillium over the past 15+ years. This year, I want to give back and help continue the club’s success.

Professionally, I have worked in various engineering roles in the technology sector for 30 years and have managed many large-scale projects. Having instructed and driven at many tracks with Trillium and other clubs, I believe our community sets the standard for safety, learning, and fun—and we continually improve by innovating, adapting, and tackling challenges.

It would be my privilege to serve you and the club for the next two years, if elected.

Pierre Knobbs

I have been a proud member of the BMW CCA Trillium Chapter for over 25 years and an instructor with the club for more than 20 years. Over that time, the club has become an important part of my life through the friendships, driving experiences, and shared passion for BMWs that it brings together.

My involvement has primarily been through our driving programs, where I’ve had the privilege of instructing and helping members develop their advanced driving skills. Supporting the race school and performance driving events has always been especially rewarding for me. I strongly believe that learning, mentorship, and enthusiasm for driving are some of the things that make our club so special.

Beyond the track, I enjoy contributing wherever I can, including creating marketing and promotional materials that help showcase what the club offers to current and prospective members.

If elected, my goal is to help the Trillium Chapter continue to grow while remaining welcoming and inclusive to all members. I believe the club should be a respectful and enjoyable social environment where long-time enthusiasts and new members alike feel comfortable participating—whether that’s through driving events, social gatherings, or new types of activities that reflect the evolving interests of our community.

Most of all, I want to help ensure the club remains a place where people can connect, learn, and simply enjoy the company of fellow BMW enthusiasts.

Allan Lewis

I am a long-time member of the club having joined at the beginning of 2000 after buying my first BMW. I remember the anticipation of my first driving school at CTMP (Mosport at the time) in April 2000 and the total exhilaration and joy of that first school. I had so much fun that I couldn’t stop smiling for three weeks. I quickly signed up for my second school that June. I then bought a second BMW - a 1991 E30 - which became my dedicated track car, a truck, a trailer, tools, … Very quickly, a hobby became an obsession.

Over the years, I have been involved in the club operations in various roles, including

⁃ Club race chair 2007 - 2021 and club race registrar since 2007

⁃ Club race school organizer since Trillium started holding it in 2011

⁃ Trillium driving events registrar since 2019

⁃ Member of the Driving Events Committee since 2017

⁃ Member of the Trillium Board of Directors 2009 - 2011

And beginning in December I’ve been helping the Board get their financial records in order.

Over these many years I’ve seen Boards come and go. I’ve seen politics come and go. I’ve seen personalities come and go. And I’m still here.

Recently, it has become apparent to me that there are cracks forming in how the club is being run. To continue to be successful, the Trillium needs a strong foundation, including a robust and mature Board of Directors with the experience and background to provide disciplined financial oversight and management. The Board must also have an understanding of the regulatory environment it operates in, whether that be governmental or the rules and procedures from BMW CCA.

In addition to the important changes required to provide a solid foundation for club operations, the next Board will also need to work hard to rebuild our social events calendar, growparticipation in the driving events, and diversify the types of activities offered by the club to attract new members.

I believe I can be strong contributor on such a Board given my own intimate understanding of how the club works combined with my past professional experience leading large and small engineering teams.

Peter Neely

I have been a BMW Trillium member since 2012, an instructor since 2020, and have served two terms on the board previously. This is my home club, and I am running for the Board to give back to the community that has supported my growth as a driver and instructor.

Trillium has set the gold standard for HPDE events, student learning, and instructor development. I am committed to helping the club remain driver focused and member first.

I bring over 30 years of experience running organizations, including founding three companies, leading three for owners, and serving on other boards, with a pragmatic, execution focused approach.

Thank you to all the nominated members for their willingness to contribute their time and energy to a community built by drivers, for drivers. I wish you all well.

Janice Stone

Janice Stone is a seasoned Trillium board member having 12 years experience with the club as a member, student, volunteer and previous board member for 5 years.  She brings passion, strong relationship building and expertise to the club.

Her love to both enjoy the track as well as support those running the club socially, practically and administratively, is what earned her husband the title of "Mr. Janice" around the track by Derek Hanson.   In her first couple of terms on the board she was secretary and marketing director as well as supporting the Treasurer and representing Trillium at the Clubs Canada forum.  She brings her qualifications of MBA, Professional Business and Performance coach, and team building to Trillium.  Janice desires to help Trillium move forward with a clear future, strong and professional policies that will enable effective progress, and bring back a strong social presence and reputation.

Layla Thomas

I stepped into the role of President in November 2024 during a period of transition, with the goal of maintaining stability and ensuring the chapter continued to operate effectively.

Since then, my focus has been on strengthening operations, supporting volunteers, and addressing areas where the chapter needed improvement. This has included hands-on involvement in event planning, communications, and outreach, as well as pursuing additional education in corporate finance and marketing to better support budgeting, sponsorship, and promotion efforts.

I have been encouraged to stand for election with the support of long-standing Trillium members who value the chapter’s history, stability, and future direction.

If elected, my focus will be on continuing to strengthen the chapter’s operations, supporting a collaborative executive team, and positioning Trillium for long-term stability, growth, and member engagement.
